Navy – it’s classic. Contemporary. Preppy. Crisp. Nautical. Bold. Chic. Masculine. Feminine. I could go on and on! See, I told you I love navy. I love it so much that it’s somewhere in every room of my house. While you don’t have to go that crazy, I think it’s a color that should always be in the mix when designing spaces.

Timeless & Complementary

Navy is timeless and can be complemented with so many amazing colors. My favorites are to pair it with bright colors like kelly green, orange, or yellow, but for a less bold look, navy can be complemented by a light coral or a pale, dusky blue. And let’s not forget that nothing is sharper than beautiful navy with crisp white.

Perfect for Any Room

Navy is versatile and looks great in all rooms around your house — living room, dining room, bedroom, bathroom, playroom, front porch — there’s endless possibilities!

And, if you’re nervous to paint an entire room, using navy as an accent wall is a nice alternative. Or, if you’re really nervous, start with some navy accents — a vase, candlesticks, a rug — I know you’ll love it so much that your walls will be navy before you know it!

Caution: Choose the Right Navy

My only caution is that all navy colors are not the same. You have to be a little careful when picking navy paint. Sometimes, it can look purple or have a black hue to it. My number one favorite is Naval by Sherwin Williams. A few other favs are Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore, Drawing Room Blue by Farrow & Ball and Club Navy by Ralph Lauren.

Aren’t you inspired?! Now, go paint something navy!
